Department Goals

In view of the missions defined for the University and in line with the objectives of the educational and research vice-chancellorships of Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences, the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics pursues the following goals in accordance with the Department’s roadmap:

Strategic Goals

• Expand collaboration with governmental and public-sector organizations.
• Conclude educational and research memoranda of understanding with governmental and public-sector organizations.
• Establish an information database of graduates in Epidemiology.
• Conclude educational and research memoranda of understanding with leading educational and research centers within the country.
• Manage health-system data and analyze it at the local level.
• Develop appropriate public health models, accompanied by small-scale implementation trials in small communities as part of internship programs.
• Collaborate in developing an implementation charter and activities for the control and quality assurance of health data.
• Provide consultation on executive decision-making and hospital management.
• Participate in the design and implementation of basic, clinical, and comprehensive research projects.

Specific Goals

• Educate graduates with knowledge and skills that meet internationally recognized and nationally approved standards and respond to the needs of society.

• Provide facilities and equipment for theoretical instruction and conduct practical workshops in accordance with standards.

• Work toward becoming one of the country’s leading academic departments and improving the ranking of the School/Faculty.
• Increase the Department’s contribution to scientific output and the training of researchers.
• Plan to achieve the objectives of the Medical Education Transformation Plan and advance toward scientific excellence and the third-generation university model.

• Strengthen interdepartmental and interuniversity collaboration in research projects and educational programs.
• Create the conditions for expanding the Department’s postgraduate programs.

• Hold training workshops on specialized software.
• Establish university-level statistical and methodological consultation centers, managed by Epidemiology master’s students under the supervision of the Department’s faculty members.
